Water/Sewer Superintendent
The City of Everson Water and Sewer Department provides the production and distribution of over 116 million gallons of water per year and the treatment of over 91.6 million gallons of wastewater per year which is discharged to the Nooksack River. The City also treats the sewage from the City of Nooksack, which represents 26% of the yearly flow. The City has over 64,400 feet of water distribution piping, over 40,000 feet of piping in the sewage collection system. These departments are funded entirely by the water and sewer rate payers of the city.

The wastewater treatment plant has a current National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit obtained from the WS-DOE and is in compliance with established standards. The City of Everson presently provides sewer service to all the developed areas within the city limits and also the City of Nooksack.

Cross Connection Control (CCC)
Washington State drinking water rules require public water systems to develop and implement Cross-Connection Control (CCC) programs in order to protect our citizen's health. Under these programs, some water system customers (property owners) may have to install backflow prevention assemblies. Backflow assemblies (when installed) are required to be tested annually thereafter to make sure they work properly. A DOH-Certified Backflow Assembly Tester (BAT) must do the testing and forward test documentation to the City.
For more information, please review the brochure links provided below. For any other questions regarding the program, contact Don Van Iderstine.
