Long-Range Planning
Long-range planning includes preparation, review and updating of the City of Everson Comprehensive Land Use Plan. This plan addresses population projections, land use, capital facilities needs, parks, housing, transportation and utilities. The comprehensive plan was last updated in 2004. Property owners interested in changing the comprehensive plan (future zoning) designation for their property must apply for a comprehensive plan map amendment. These types of changes are only processed once a year in the fall.
The Planning Department is also responsible for preparing proposed updates to the City's development regulations, such as the zoning ordinance, subdivision ordinance, critical areas ordinance and shoreline management program.
